Akufo Addo Claims His Administration Is Working To Revive The Economy

President Nana Akufo-Addo has stated that his administration is making constant efforts to revive the struggling economy.

Today, May 1, workers all over the world are celebrating International Workers’ Day with the subject “Protecting Incomes and Pensions in an Era of Economic Crises: Our Responsibility.”

Assuring the people of Ghana that his administration is working relentlessly to win board approval for Ghana’s $3 billion bailout to handle the current economic crisis, the President made this statement during his May Day address in Bolgatanga.

“We continue to work tirelessly to complete all prior actions required to present Ghana’s request to the IMF’s integrity board for approval.” “We have also made substantial progress on the debt exchange programme as well as our engagements with bilateral creditors to secure the financing required for the IMF programme,” President Akufo-Addo stated.

At the May Day parade in Bolgatanga in 2023, the TUC General Secretary Dr. Anthony Yaw Baah has urged the government to stop spending money on things like the National Cathedral that weren’t necessary.

In the latest news today, he announced that instead of a cathedral, he proposed turning the site into a public hospital to better serve the country.

Dr. Anthony Yaw Baah said, “We have to change the situation ourselves as Ghanaians. We believe strongly that government can lead us out of this crisis, and the government can do so by cutting expenditure on non-essentials including the need to stop spending our hard-earned revenue on a national cathedral.”

“The president has always said he wants to create another Notre Dame in Ghana so we can attract a lot of visitors but we disagree. In fact, comrades, it will be better to convert the project into a national hospital.
