Brogya Genfi Drops Court Case As Mahama Intervenes And Calls for Unity Ahead of Election 2024

Ex-president John Dramani Mahama has urged members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to avoid embracing any mentality that may undermine the party’s ambition to seize power back from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2024.

He stressed the importance of party unity at all levels in order to secure victory in the 2024 elections.

He stated that in order for the party to be successful in the elections of 2024, a unified front must be constructed at all levels of the party.

The comments were made on Thursday, December 22, shortly after the former president met with Yaw Brogya Genfi, who had recently been defeated in the elections for the position of National Youth Organizer by George Opare Addo.

Mr. Brogya Genfi went to the Amasaman High Court and was successful in obtaining a temporary restraining order to prevent Mr. Opare Addo from being sworn in.

On the other hand, the newly re-elected National Youth Organiser of the NDC was present at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday morning to take his oath of office among the other victors of the NDC’s 10th National Delegates Congress.

Mr. Mahama stated on Facebook that he had met with Comrade Brogya Genfi after he decided to seek justice in court. After a productive discussion, Genfi decided to drop the matter.
