Cardi B Shares Throwback Photo From Her Stripper Days

Cardi B took to Twitter on Saturday (August 19) to post a throwback photo of her days in the strip club in the Bronx.

“If you met me in the strip club…would you still cuff me?” she asked fans, though she subsequently deleted the post.

Cardi B established her reputation by performing on the pole in various establishments in New York City. Despite her success in the music industry, some may assume that she has abandoned her origins as a stripper.

However, this is not the case. In June, the 30-year-old artist took to Twitter to inform her fans that her life as a stripper remains an integral part of her identity. The Bronx rapper revealed that whenever she visits a strip club, she still ponders the amount of money she could earn if she were still dancing.

“Every time I go to a strip club I start calculating in my head how much I would of made that night if I was still stripping,” she confessed. “I don’t know why ….I just automatically do that.”

Cardi B has been recognized by Forbes as one of the most influential female rappers of all time. She holds several records among women in hip hop, including the most number-one singles (five) on the Billboard Hot 100, the only female rapper to achieve multiple solo number ones, and the only female rapper to earn number ones in two decades (2010s and 2020s) on the chart.

Additionally, she holds the record for the most diamond-certified songs (three) by the RIAA and is the highest-certified female rapper of all time on their Top Artists (Digital Singles) ranking. She has sold 100 million certified units (album and songs) in the US alone.

Furthermore, she is the female rapper with the most songs with a billion streams on Spotify and has the most-streamed female rap album on the platform. She was the first lead artist to top the Billboard Global 200.

Her accolades include a Grammy Award, eight Billboard Music Awards, six Guinness World Records, six American Music Awards, 14 BET Hip Hop Awards, and two ASCAP Songwriter of the Year awards. In 2018, Time magazine included her on its annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world, and in 2020, Billboard honored her as Woman of the Year. In 2022, she became the creative director of the entertainment magazine Playboy.
