‘Confident’ Stonebwoy Tells Charterhouse To Declare Him Winner Of 2019 TGMA Artiste Of The Year

Stonebwoy was in a buoyant mood when he achieved a historic milestone by clinching the prestigious Artiste of the Year award for the second time in the history of the 25th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).

While basking in the euphoria of the moment, the honcho of the Bhim Nation fraternity expressed his firm belief that he rightfully won the 2019 edition of the award amidst the controversy that ensued during the ceremony.

The 2019 TGMA infamously ended abruptly due to a physical altercation involving a gun display from Stonebwoy which ultimately attracted significant attention from local and international media.

The rivalry between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale escalated dramatically as Stonebwoy boldly brandished a gun, warning anyone who approached him on stage after Wale and his group surrounded him.

This incident occurred after Stonebwoy won the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year award for an impressive fifth consecutive time.

During the award ceremony, Stonebwoy was receiving his well-deserved recognition when suddenly, his rival Shatta Wale and his entourage stormed onto the stage without any clear motive.

Recognizing the potential threat, Stonebwoy, who had possibly anticipated such a situation and was prepared, swiftly drew out a gun, causing chaos to erupt within the auditorium as startled guests scattered in every direction.

Thus, the Artiste of the Year winner was not officially declared, but many experts feel that Stonebwoy was the deserving recipient.

DJ Black, who has been the official DJ for the event for nearly twenty years, recently admitted, albeit hesitantly, that Stonebwoy would have won if the show had not ended early.

Therefore, when Stonebwoy accepted his award for the 2024 edition, he pleaded with Charterhouse to announce him as the winner to solidify his position as the ultimate winner on multiple occasions and set a record.
