Davido’s Uncle, Ademola Sacked As Osun State Governor After Court Overturned Election Result

Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke is a Nigerian politician and businessman, who was recently sworn in as governor of Osun State. He has now been sacked from the position by the Election Petition Tribunal for the state of Osun.

According to reports, Adegboyega Oyetola, the governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress, filed a lawsuit on Friday asking the Osun State Election Petitions Tribunal to annul the results of the July 16 Osun governorship election, which had given Ademola Adeleke of the People’s Democratic Party victory.

Despite the fact that Adeleke was proclaimed the winner and restored to office by the Independent National Electoral Commission, Oyetola and the APC continued to dispute the results. The tribunal ordered INEC to revoke Mr. Adeleke and his deputy, Kola Adewusi’s, certificates of return after they had already been sworn in.

After reviewing the facts, Justice Kume ruled that the governor’s race was not conducted in accordance with Nigeria’s Electoral Act.

The court ruled that excessive voting had occurred in the governor’s race. It said that Mr. Oyetola received 314, 921 votes in the election after the invalid ones were subtracted.

Therefore, the court ruled that Mr. Oyetola should once again serve as governor of Osun State, Mr. Adeleke received 403,371 votes, making him the winner. Fifteen people ran for governor, but the race between Adeleke and Oyetola was the closest.

In addition to this, he claimed that Mr. Adeleke had fabricated the academic qualifications that he had presented to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in order to be eligible to run for election.
