‘God Gives, God Takes Away’ Is Nonsense- Majid Michel Says In Reaction to Christian Atsu’s Death
Majid Michel has said the popular Biblical quote, ‘Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away’ is now a mere cliche because it doesn’t make sense at all.
He made this proclamation in a recent interview on Hitz FM while reacting to the death of Christian Atsu. He said given the likeable personality of the late Ghanaian international based on his sense of philanthropism and his relatively younger age, it’s not wise for God to ‘take him away.’
He expatiated his posture by saying;
I don’t believe in ‘you don’t know what will happen tomorrow, God gives and God takes.’ That is a lie! It was Job that made that statement. That ‘God gives and God takes’ statement, Job said it out of anguish! It was Job’s words and now we have made it a doctrine. It’s false.
Apparently, This statement is shown through Job 1:21 where Job said; “Naked I came from my mother’s womb and naked I shall return there. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord.”
