Even If You Combine A Law Degree With A PhD, I Will Choose A Foreign Passport – Wayoosi

Veteran actor Waayosi has added his perspective to the ongoing debate between Dutch passports and Ghanaian PhDs, further complicating the matter.

According to the diminutive actor, he would opt for a foreign passport, specifically a Dutch one, even if he had both a law degree and a PhD.

He emphasized that these two achievements cannot be compared as they serve different purposes.

In a video shared on social media, Wayoosi expressed his unwavering preference for a Dutch passport, stating that even the addition of a law degree to a PhD would not change his decision.

“Enough of this pointless debate, okay? How can you equate a foreign passport with a PhD? Even if you combine a law degree with a PhD, my choice would still be the foreign passport. Don’t overthink this and stress yourself,” he said in Twi.

The discussion escalated after Prof. Kobby Mensah, a lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School, mentioned that a PhD is not the ideal path for those in urgent need of employment.

“A PhD is not for the hungry. It is not for gaining employment, neither is it for entrepreneurship. Get that!” the lecturer wrote on X.

Beyond that, social media influencer and former musician, Achipalago, who has been residing in the United States for nearly ten years, put on display his American passport and various documents to prove his status as an American citizen amidst the foregoing debate.

In a video discovered by Tru News Report, he expressed that obtaining the passport is a significant milestone for him, adding to the ongoing discussion surrounding the Dutch passport versus Ghanaian PhD initiated by social media influencer Kofi Gabs, also known as Mr Happiness, who currently works as a cleaner in the Netherlands.
