The General Secretary of the Socialist Movement, Ghana, Kwesi Pratt Jr., has shared a story about a driver who forced down a passenger who spoke against Kennedy Agyapong.
According to him, Kennedy Agyapong has significant support from both taxi drivers and bus drivers, citing how a bus driver went as far as forcing one of his passengers to get off a bus for criticising Kennedy Agyapong.
Additionally, he stated that Kennedy Agyapong emerged victorious in several constituencies within the northern region during the NPP primaries, despite the active campaigning efforts of Bawumia.
“A colleague of mine boarded a TroTro (bus) and proceeded to criticise Akompreko (Kennedy Agyapong) without ceasing his speech then the driver asked him to drop down… It was one of the indications I observed that Akompreko (Kennedy Agyapong) gets a lot of support from Texi drivers and trotro drivers,” he said.
Kennedy Agyapong gracefully accepted his defeat in the recent presidential primaries of the party. He urged all party members to set aside any grievances from the elections and unite in order to achieve success in the 2024 general elections.
“I believe the party has been fair and transparent. That is the only thing I have always been preaching, this election is fair, my grassroots have spoken, I accept the results in good faith,” he said.
“We are going to work tirelessly to break the 8. We should put everything behind us and let us unite this party, with unity I believe we can break the 8, that is all I have been preaching for,. I congratulate the Election Committee, Police, EC, and the party members for the commitment you have shown for peace. We have to come together and give the NDC a showdown,” he added “
The outspoken politician, who has often caused headaches within his own party due to his behavior and remarks, emphasized the importance of unity among members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in order to secure victory against the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 general elections.
