I Don’t Think I’ll Fall In Love Again- Shakira Says After Split From Gerard Pique

Shakira has shared her uncertainty about finding love again following her breakup with Barcelona icon, Gerard Pique.

The pair revealed their split in June 2022 after being together for 11 years, with reports suggesting that Shakira learned about the alleged infidelity of Pique. In a conversation with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, the singer mentioned that she believed love would last forever.

“I thought love would be there forever for me, and that’s one of my broken dreams. I don’t know if I’d like to find that again. Probably not,” Shakira said.

She further explained that after the end of her 12-year relationship, she is focusing on prioritising “friendship” in her life moving forward.

Her words: “I think friendship lasts longer than love. However I still think experiencing love, fully experiencing it with all its peaks and valleys, it’s so essential to the human life.

“I love love, but I think I even love friendship a little bit more. Because I thought love would be there forever for me. And that’s one of my, you know, broken dreams. Perhaps I will. I don’t know if I’ll like find that again. Probably not. Well, I don’t know. But friendship, I have.

Shakira also let fans in on the rumours surrounding her partner, Gerard Pique, and his alleged infidelity, which probably caused their separation, when she spoke to The Sunday Times in a different interview previously.

In the interview, which was translated from Spanish to English per ShowNews Today, Shakira reportedly said she looked in the fridge “to find the truth,” adding, “It is when I go to the fridge and find the head of Rauw Alejandro.”

The publication also referenced an interview with the Spanish TV show Socialite claiming the “She Wolf” artist found out about Piqué’s alleged infidelity after she came home from a trip and noticed some of her jam was missing.’

The flavour in question was not favoured by the ex-professional soccer player and their two children, which led Shakira to suspect that someone else had been in their house, making themselves at home with her groceries.

Despite the difficulty in finding the supposed interview, Shakira’s fans have kept the theory alive through social media, sharing numerous tweets related to the jam.

The “Beautiful Liar” hitmaker claimed to not know what they were talking about, according to the outlet.

She also opened up about the rumours and shared her thoughts on the matter. “For a long time I put my career on hold to be next to Gerard, so he could play football. There was a lot of sacrifice for love,” Shakira told The Sunday Times.

Shakira, one of the most influential female artists of the 21st century, is widely recognized for her role in paving the way for other Latin artists to enter the international market.
