I Win ‘Artiste Of The Year’ Every 5 Years- Stonebwoy Observes

Stonebwoy has expressed his belief that winning the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs) Artiste of the Year every five years may be a deliberate design for him.

During an exclusive interview with Berla Mundi on TV3, the reigning TGMA Artiste of the Year mentioned that he first won the prestigious award in 2015 and possibly would have won it again in 2019 if not for the chaos that ensued after he clashed with his rival, Shatta Wale.

With his recent victory, Stonebwoy now believes that he has a good chance of securing the crown once again in the next five years.

The leader of the Bbhim Nation fraternity whose ongoing feud with Shatta Wale has reignited in recent times, said if the 2019 edition had proceeded smoothly, he would have undoubtedly been declared the Artiste of the Year, as all available data supported this conclusion, both from his perspective and that of Ghanaians.

“I trusted that should everything have gone on perfectly that night Stonebwoy would have been the Artiste of the Year, that’s why I am pleading so that if they do come out eventually in all humility this is nothing by force,” he stated.

As reported by Tru News Report previously, Stonebwoy expressed his firm belief that he rightfully won the 2019 edition of the Artiste of the Year award and therefore urged Charterhouse, the organisers of the award to declare him the winner now.

The 2019 TGMA infamously ended abruptly due to a physical altercation involving a gun display from Stonebwoy which ultimately attracted significant attention from local and international media.

The rivalry between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale escalated dramatically as Stonebwoy boldly brandished a gun, warning anyone who approached him on stage after Wale and his group surrounded him.

This incident occurred after Stonebwoy won the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year award for an impressive fifth consecutive time.

When Stonebwoy accepted his award for the 2024 edition, he pleaded with Charterhouse to announce him as the winner to solidify his position as the ultimate winner on multiple occasions and set a record.
