Kwesi Pratt Criticises President Akufo-Addo For Having More Appointees Than Any Government In Ghana’s History

Veteran journalist Kwesi Pratt Jr. has weighed in on the debate about the number of government employees working at the Jubilee House.

In accordance with Section 11 of the Presidential Office Act, 193 (Act 463), President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has presented a report to Parliament detailing the staffing profile of the President’s Office from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022.

Three hundred and fifteen (315) additional political appointees worked in the President’s Office, bringing the total number of political appointees to 361.

Mr. Pratt wondered about the necessity of so many people being present at the President’s Jubilee House.

“This government, which is led by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has more appointees than any other government in Ghana’s history.” he said
