Odartey Lamptey Rubbishes Claims That His Ex-Wife Cheated On Him Because He Had No Time For Her

Odartey Lamptey has dismissed the allegations that his wife cheated on him with other men due to his lack of time for her.

In an interview with Peace FM’s Dan Kwaku Yeboah, the former Black Stars player stated that he was always there for his wife and accompanied her on numerous trips around the world. Despite this, she still managed to engage in the actions she did.

Following a DNA test that revealed none of their three children were biologically his, Odartey Lamptey and his ex-wife Gloria Appiah ended their 20-year marriage. The couple then had to navigate a legal battle as Gloria sought a portion of the properties they had acquired together.

Speaking about the incident once again, Odartey Lamptey, who was once hailed by Pele as the future star of football, emphasized that he had dedicated his time and attention to his wife.

“When the issue came, people were saying that she might have done that because I married and left her here. That was never the case. This is someone I travelled around the world with but was able to do what she did.

Lamptey also explained his first reaction upon discovering that the three children he had lovingly cared for were not biologically his own.

He said he impulsively rushed to his Tundra car in a moment of extreme anger, intending to retrieve his gun.

However, at that very moment, he heard a divine voice speaking to him.

He acknowledged that if it hadn’t been for this intervention from God, he would have found himself behind bars, facing the consequences of his actions.

“When the issue happened I wanted to use my gun. It was in my Tundra but I decided I would not do anything to jeopardize my life so I did not use it. I was broken but I was very patient about it and that has led me to where I am today.

“I believe it was God who spoke to me and so I decided not to use my gun. It used to be in my Tundra but I decided not to touch the gun again.

“I’ve my own children and family now and people even come to me to learn from how I have been able to emotionally handle it. My ordeal gave men awareness and the confidence to check the parternity of their children. Some have not been able to handle the shock but some have been able to,” he said.
