Okudzeto Ablakwa Claims Rev. Kusi Boateng Gave Him Court Documents From A Fake Bailiff

North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa claims he was recently served with court documents by a fake bailiff, and he has reported the incident to the Accra High Court.

Documents available to Tru News Report include a restraining order and defamation complaint filed by National Cathedral Board secretary Kwabena Adu Gyamfi, aka Victor Kusi Boateng. On February 3, 2023, a bailiff attempted to serve Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa with court documents, but he refused to accept them, which constituted an insult to the court’s authority.

According to an 85-page affidavit filed in opposition to a contempt suit filed by Adu Gyamfi against the congressman for refusing service of the two suits and showing disrespect to the court by kicking the documents, Ablakwa made these charges.

Ablakwa’s attorneys, Sory @ Law, included an exhibit in the court documents that contained an Application for Search Report looking for information on the bailiff who served Ablakwa with papers earlier this month.

Kwabena Adu Gyamfi had served Ablakwa with two applications on February 1st and 3rd, according to the court register, which confirmed this. Noting that Ellis Armah was the bailiff who served the application on Ablakwa, it answered “NO” to a query about whether or not Ellis was a bailiff of the Judicial Service.

Lawyers for Ablakwa also noted a recent ruling from the Chief Justice requiring the use of only certified bailiffs when serving legal documents. Ablakwa has stated that he is willing to serve jail time if necessary at today’s (February 21) contempt hearing.

In his answer, he claims that the plaintiff is being vexatious and that he did not want to show disrespect to the court.
