Jamaican Star Popcaan Teams Up With Black Sherif On ‘Celebrate’
Jamaican star Popcaan has featured Black Sherif on a new joint dubbed ‘Celebrate’ off his latest studio album named ‘Great Is He.’
Jae5, a Ghanaian-British producer, produced the aforementioned song, having previously worked on Sherif’s critically acclaimed album “Villian I Never Was.”
The 867 GUD boss’ fifth album, “Great is He,” includes notable cameos from Drake, Burna Boy, and many other artists.
Black Sherif joined in on the song’s second stanza, praising God for protecting his musical endeavours while proclaiming his victory over numerous trials and stumbling blocks.
Popcaan’s real name is Andrae Hugh Sutherland. Popcaan joined the Gaza Music Empire of Vybz Kartel in 2008. In 2010, he and Kartel released “Clarks,” an ode to the well-known shoe company, which became an instant success around the world.
Where We Come From, Popcaan’s debut studio album, was released in 2013 after he inked a deal with Mixpak Records. In 2016, Canadian rapper Drake’s record company OVO Sound and Warner Records hired Popcaan.
“Only Man She Want,” “Everything Nice,” “Ova Dweet,” “El Chapo,” and “Family” are some of Popcaan’s worldwide hits. Popcaan debuted as an actor in The Intent 2: The Come Up. (2018).
Among the many foreign artists with whom Popcaan has worked are Drake, Jamie xx, Pusha T, Giggs, Matoma, Wale, Gorillaz, and Davido. Forever, his second record for Mixpak, was made available on July 20, 2018.
