Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth Announce Divorce: The End Of A Hollywood Love Story

After 11 years of marriage, Reese Witherspoon and her husband, Hollywood talent agent Jim Toth, have declared their intention to split.

The pair posted a joint statement on social media in which they expressed their profound love, generosity, and mutual respect for everything they have achieved together.

“We have some personal news to share… It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce.

In addition, they stated that they had spent many lovely years together and are going forward with care and deliberation.

“We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness and mutual respect for everything we have created together.”

The news comes two days before what would have been their 12th wedding anniversary, according to E! News, and that the split is “amicable.” 

“There is no drama, no event or reason,” an insider told E! news. “They are just two people who have made this decision with the utmost love and respect and love for their child. You will see them out there co-parenting together.”

Reese Witherspoon, 47, and Jim Toth, 52, originally met at a party hosted by a mutual acquaintance in 2010. They became engaged in December 2010 and exchanged vows on Witherspoon’s Ojai, California, property in March 2011.

The couple has a son named Tennessee James Toth, who is 10 years old. With her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, Reese Witherspoon has two further children, Ava and Deacon.

Witherspoon was previously married to Ryan Phillippe, who played her love interest in the 1999 film Cruel Intentions. The former pair, who wed that year and divorced in 2008, share daughter Ava Phillippe, 23, and son Deacon Phillippe, 19. In 2011, the Big Little Lies star reflected on finding love again after becoming a single mom.

Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon is known for her work in films such as “Legally Blonde,” “Walk the Line,” and “Wild.” She is also a producer and entrepreneur, having launched Hello Sunshine, her own production company, and Draper James, a lifestyle brand.

Jim Toth is a talent agent who has represented celebrities like Matthew McConaughey, Scarlett Johansson, and Robert Downey Jr.

The pair has committed to a positive co-parenting relationship for their blended family, but has not stated the reason for their split.
