A bunch of Accra Hearts of Oak supporters want head coach, Slavko Matic to be sacked immediately according to a new report.
In connection with the growing agitations, the Serbian coach was asked to stay away ahead of the game against arch-rivals Asante Kotoko on Sunday per directives from the Ghana Police Service.
After consecutive losses to Aduana Stars and Great Olympics, a portion of the crowd on Friday stopped the coach from conducting training sessions with the playing group before the game.
Matic had frequently criticized the supporters’ behaviour during and after games prior to the altercation at Pobiman. After it was claimed that he was verbally assaulted, Matic proceeded to the Ghana Police Headquarters to file a complaint against the fans.
According to information obtained by GHANAsoccernet.com, the police had told him to avoid the club until further notice; this is what caused him to be absent on Sunday during the Super Clash match against Asante Kotoko.
In an interview with Accra-based radio station Asempa FM, the head of the National Chapters Committee, Elvis Herman Hesse, albeit denouncing the supporters’ actions, still went ahead to urge the Board to heed their pleas and oust the coach because of the team’s lacklustre performance.
