Rihanna Cancels Her Performance At Glastonbury Festival Due To Pregnancy

Rihanna, who is pregnant with her second child with A$AP Rocky, has reportedly let down her millions of fans by cancelling her performance at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

According to the Daily Mail, Rihanna was originally set to perform as the headlining act at Glastonbury with Elton John and the Arctic Monkeys, but had to back out because of the approaching arrival of her child.

The festival’s organiser, Emily Eavis, confirmed the news as she responded to the backlash for picking an all-male lineup that included Sir Elton, the Arctic Monkeys, and Guns N’ Roses, telling The Guardian that a female headliner had been planned but had to cancel because she “changed her touring plans.”

During this year’s Super Bowl halftime show, the 35-year-old singer and Fenty founder showed off her growing baby bump. The legendary singer’s first live show in over six years was also her first sign that a new album would be coming out later this year.

This “comeback” to music reportedly included performing on the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm with Sir Elton John (now 76) and other artistes.

The announcement comes after fans of the yearly event voiced their displeasure with the event’s “stale” nature and the lack of female headliners. However, just four women have held the top spot in the past twelve years.
