They Say We Look Alike- Shatta Wale Tells Incoming Nigerian President to Adopt Him

Shatta Wale has openly pleaded with Nigeria’s incoming president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to adopt him.

He tweeted his plea on March 29 after mentioning that people have said they look remarkably similar. Shatta Wale said he wanted to perform one of his well-known songs in homage to the president-elect and invited him to come and adopt him as his son from Ghana.

He also wished the former governor of Lagos state a long life and thanked Tinubu for potentially considering his request.

Shatta wrote; “Your excellency everyone says I look like you, so please come and take your son from Ghana ok lol … They always say my father won’t come for me, so please come for me so perform for u one of my songs Thank you, My president, May you live long Dad”

In a Shatta Wale-related story, the Dancehall act recently said he’s willing to be reinstated into the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards on one condition.

Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale were banned from the VGMAs forever back in 2019. Additionally, they lost the Awards they had received on the night the VGMA celebrated 20 years of the competition.

The two were also instructed by the VGMA board to return all of the awards they brought home with them that evening to Charterhouse Ghana Limited, who organized the awards. Following discussions, the board reached this decision, which was announced to the public at a news conference this morning.

The indefinite ban was imposed in 2019 as a result of a brawl caused by the two artistes during the Awards Ceremony of the 20th Anniversary edition of the VGMA, which disrupted the ceremony and threatened the safety of patrons.

The two were thus excluded from participating in the 21st VGMA held in 2020. As far as this new development is concerned, Shatta Wale said he will only participate in the awards scheme only if he and the organizers come to him personally and they dialogue.

“VGMA is my ex-girlfriend, anytime they want to come back I am here. I feel because they are the ones organizing this and there should be a nice approach. They should also find someone from the office to come and invite me to come on board and it will be beautiful. We should take this like that…we have to understand that united we stand divided we fall,” he said on Hitz FM recently in an interview.

Shatta Wale emphasizes that he doesn’t regard the scheme as an enemy, and as such, he believes that both parties can create something magical when his proposed steps are considered.
