UK Journalist Hints Thomas Partey Could Be Axed From The Team In Next Transfer Window

A UK journalist named Chris Wheatley has hinted that Thomas Partey could be axed from Arsenal in the next transfer market owing to his inconsistent form and injuries in recent times.

Along with Casemiro of Manchester United, Partey has received praise for his exceptional play at the start of the season, making him one of the best midfielders currently competing in the English top division.

However, the midfielder has been unable to keep up his previous level of play in recent weeks, which has resulted in him losing his starting position and the team’s title chances.

Due to his age and previous performances, Wheatley has implied that the player’s time at the club may be coming to an end.

“Well we’ve spoken a lot about the midfield area, that is certainly an area Arsenal will want to strengthen, the futures of Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka are a little bit uncertain, Xhaka has been linked back to Germany, Partey, his form has been under pressure in the past few weeks, that’s why Jorginho has come in,” Wheatley revealed to National World YouTube channel

“A few Arsenal fans have suggested Partey could be on his way out, I’ve not heard that line yet, but he is in his late 20s. Arsenal will need to let one midfielder go this summer, it could be Xhaka and it could be Partey,” he added.

Thomas Partey loses his position to Jorginho

After missing out on starting for Arsenal’s previous two Premier League games, Thomas Partey has issued a statement to calm the nerves of his admirers and fans.

Recall that the Italian midfielder Jorginho took over for the Ghanaian deputy captain, who has started 26 league games for the Gunners this season. Partey admitted to Standard Sports that he was unconcerned about losing his spot in the starting XI.

“I am really happy for him (Jorginho) because, for a couple of weeks, he was the best at training and then at the end, you see that in the game.”

Partey went on to praise his teammate’s recent performances and highlighted the importance of competition in the squad.

“I am really happy for him and also happy that every player is ready to step in, so nobody is able to sleep. I think it is good and I hope everyone in that position will be ready to step in when they have the chance. The purpose of the club is to create competition and that helps the club to grow more, and also pushes us to be able to give our best in the game.”

Meanwhile. the gunners are in danger of seeing the Premier League title slip through their grasp this season, having fallen behind Manchester City with just three games remaining.
