Ghanaian singer and songwriter Jane Fara Fauzzier Afia Boafowaa Yahaya Awindor better known by her stage name Efya, denied knowing who Ghanaian reggae / Kuchoko artiste and radio presenter Blakk Rasta is.
Speaking in an interview on GHOneTV Efya, said she doesn’t know who Blakk Rasta is “ Who is that? is he a rapper? he’s a what?…he’s a radio journalist?… But journalists say what they want, we don’t care. I don’t think I know who he is. What does he do, radio?
She identified Blakk Rasta as a “funny dude who makes humorous music” after the show’s host gave her a few hints.
This comes after Blakk Rasta’s recent attack on Sarkodie, in which he called Sarkodie’s appearance on a remix of Bob Marley’s “Stir It Up” saying “What Sarkodie was nothing but a desecration of the legacy of Bob Marley. It is so shameful. What Sarkodie did is nothing but a desecration of the holy music of Bob Marley. It is like a king has been buried and you go and dig him up and steal his gold and diamonds that he’s been buried with.”
Efya didn’t like what Blakk Rasta said, so she denied that she knew him and said his opinion doesn’t matter “Your opinion right now, Mr Blakk, does not matter. The thing is, the boy has done something and it’s historic, be grateful and let’s honour our people. Let’s be happy for our people, you saying this, what does it do to it? Are they gonna go back into production and make the music what you want?…what level has he gotten to criticize the song?”
“Please have some backing before you say some of these things. when somebody has done something monumental just say good work bro, this is amazing bro it doesn’t hurt. sometimes when we are giving our opinions we should call our mother and ask them first before we put it out I swear.” she said.
