Today, June 15, 2023, marks the 77th birthday of former US president Donald Trump but he’s shifting attention from this memorable day by spending it quietly because he doesn’t want to be reminded that he’s getting older.
In light of this, a source said that Donald Trump “winced” when fans sang him “Happy Birthday” because the former president is ashamed of turning 77.
After entering a not-guilty plea to 37 felony counts in federal court on Tuesday, Trump went to Miami’s Versailles Restaurant in Little Havana where supporters sang to him a day early in honour of his birthday, which is today.
“Some birthday, some birthday,” Trump said, appearing uncomfortable with the serenade. The New York Post reported that despite the former president’s numerous grievances, he was truly bothered by the focus on his advanced age.
“Trump is [known for] hating his birthday, and never celebrates it in a meaningful way,” said the source.
According to the New York Post, Trump “winced” throughout the singing and that “insiders say he feels even more so this year as he doesn’t want to call attention to the fact that he’s turning 77.”
Barron Trump, 17, and Melania Trump are anticipated to celebrate his birthday at Donald Trump’s Bedminster golf course in New Jersey. The insider who spoke to the New Post claimed, however, that “no big party is planned” and that the family will instead have a family meal like they did the year before. Instead of throwing a celebration, the former president railed against Joe Biden and the charges levelled against him, bringing in 77.
After a furious address from the golf resort, Trump continued to post on Truth Social until after midnight.
“Joe Biden will forever be remembered as not only the most corrupt president in the history of our country, but perhaps, even more importantly, the president who, together with a band of his closest thugs, misfits, and Marxists, tried to destroy American Democracy!” Trump wrote shortly after midnight when he turned 77.
Trump became the first president to be indicted on criminal counts after being charged with 34 felonies in New York relating to a hush-money scheme.
