12-Year-Old Ghanaian Jude Kofie Nominated For Pianote Awards in USA

Jude Kofie, a 12-year-old pianist from Ghana who is currently based in the US, has been nominated for the inaugural Pianote Awards, according to a report originally shared by Graphic Online.

The awards ceremony is set to take place on March 14, 2024, and Jude has been recognized in the category of Most Inspiring Pianist of the Year.

Despite his young age, Jude finds himself among a talented group of contenders. This includes Lucy, a blind and neurodivergent teenage pianist, Miki Sawada, who gained recognition for her Alabama tour and documentary premiere at the Independent Film Festival Boston, and Helen Martyniuk, a Ukrainian sensation whose viral hit “Bee Theme” captured international attention.

Jude’s journey to fame began in 2023 when his exceptional talent caught the ear of a piano tuner. Impressed by his self-taught skills, the piano tuner gifted Jude a piano.

His rise continued when he appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show, where he received mentorship from Jason Halbert, the music director for Kelly Clarkson and an individual on the autism spectrum himself.

This exposure led to widespread acclaim for Jude, culminating in his receiving the Heroes Award at the HollyRod Foundation’s DesignCare Gala.

What is Pianote Awards?

The event provides an opportunity for pianists from around the globe to come together and commemorate the accomplishments of their fellow musicians. Alongside the accolades, the hosts will also select winners for various giveaways during the broadcast. Further information regarding how to enter these giveaways will be disclosed closer to the date of the ceremony.
