2024 Bhim Concert: Wyclef, Shaggy, Other International Stars To Headline Concert

Stonebwoy has given fans a glimpse of what to expect at the 2024 Bhim Concert, despite it being months away.

Following the success of previous editions, including the 2023 event at Accra Sports Stadium, which drew a massive crowd, Stonebwoy has revealed plans to have international artistes like Wyclef and Shaggy on board.

Stonebwoy officially confirmed this himself, and news of these collaborations was reinforced by one of his fan pages on Twitter after he participated in the Island Music Conference in Jamaica, where he networked with iconic stars.

He said, “Ghana look out. You don’t know Bhim Concert 2024 Wyclef on the bill, Shaggy on the Bill”.

The BHIM Concert, created by Stonebwoy, has become the country’s largest and most popular artist-led music festival.

Over the years, it has showcased a stellar lineup of esteemed artists from Africa and the Caribbean, including Busy Signal, Beenie Man, Morgan Heritage, and many more.

Shaggy and Wyclef are two highly acclaimed international artistes whose music resonates deeply with the people of Ghana. Shaggy, a talented Jamaican-American reggae singer, rapper, and songwriter, has captivated audiences with his chart-topping hits such as “It Wasn’t Me,” “Boombastic,” “In The Summertime,” “Oh Carolina,” and “Angel.”

Shaggy

His remarkable talent has earned him seven Grammy Award nominations, with wins for Best Reggae Album for “Boombastic” in 1996 and “44/876” with Sting in 2019. Additionally, he was honored with the prestigious Brit Award for International Male Solo Artist in 2002.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to music, Shaggy was bestowed with the Jamaican Order of Distinction, holding the esteemed rank of Commander in 2007. Furthermore, his remarkable achievements were acknowledged in 2022 when he received an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree from Brown University.

On the other hand, Wyclef, a Haitian rapper and musician, embarked on his musical journey at a young age when he immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of nine. He gained widespread fame as a founding member, co-producer, and guitarist of the renowned New Jersey hip hop trio, The Fugees, alongside Lauryn Hill and Pras Michel.

Wyclef

The group’s albums, “Blunted on Reality” (1994) and “The Score” (1996), achieved immense success, with the latter becoming one of the best-selling albums of all time.

Wyclef continued to make waves in the music industry with his debut solo studio album, “Wyclef Jean Presents The Carnival” (1997), which featured the chart-topping hit “Gone till November.”
