75th Emmy Awards Ceremony Slated For Saturday, April 1, 2023

The 2023 Emmys Awards ceremony will take place at the Television Academy’s North Hollywood campus on April 1, 2023. Student nominees will also take part in two days of professional development discussions and networking with leaders in the media industry to help them move up in their careers.

From the 132 entries sent in by 35 colleges and universities across the country, 21 student-made programs are chosen. Students’ entries are judged by members of the Television Academy. Each of the seven categories has three projects nominated. The criteria for the College Television Awards are based on excellence, creativity, and new ideas in the industry. Each winning project will get a cash prize of $3,000.

The Foundation also announced the winner of the $10,000 Loreen Arbus Focus on Disability Scholarship, which is given to a student project that best shows disability issues or helps new artists with disabilities get noticed. Lizzi: Deeper Than Water by Taylor University students Anna Rodman and Gabriel Burch is the winning piece for 2023. It follows Lizzi Smith, an Indiana swimmer who was born without a forearm because she was born with amniotic band syndrome, as she competes in the Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Loreen Arbus has been nominated for an Emmy twice and is a leading advocate for people with disabilities. She was the first woman to be in charge of programming for a U.S. network, both at Showtime and Cable Health Network/Lifetime. This is the 12th year that the Loreen Arbus Foundation has been given this award. The foundation has set up and funds scholarships that raise awareness about important social issues and make people more aware of them.

At the awards ceremony on April 1, 2023, the winners of the competition will be announced by public figures. During the show, the $4,000 Seymour Bricker Humanitarian Award will be given to a College Television Award nominee who best brings attention to a humanitarian issue.

Here is a list of the nominees for the 42nd College Television Awards.
