A Mar Dream Of Dead Peepol Fame Drops New Single Amidst Split

Ghanaian artist A Mar Dream, formerly known as Kofi Control, one half of the music duo Dead Peepol, released a solo single, “Peace of Mind,” on November 17 amidst the group’s hiatus.

This follows his debut release titled “Take Your Sh*t,” which was officially released on December 10, 2022, marking A Mar Dream’s transition into a solo artist.

The new song, “Peace of Mind,” produced by Apya, is the first single off his upcoming EP, “28 Years in a Dream.”

The track seamlessly merges Afrobeats with Highlife instrumentals, creating a dynamic and culturally rich musical experience that transcends genres. The blend pays homage to Highlife roots while embracing the contemporary energy of Afrobeats.

The eye-catching cover art was created by the skilled photographer and creative artist, Fred Selorm Ntumy-Gibson, also known as Creativefred.

Where is Dead Peepol?

Dead Peepol is a musical duo hailing from Kumasi, Ghana. They gained fame with their breakthrough track, “Otan Hunu.” Following the release of their most recent single, “Under the Sun,” in early 2021, the group has maintained a low profile.

Speaking to A Mar Dream, he said the group chose to take a break and focus on individual projects, citing “individual differences” that arose within the group. The decision to part ways is described as amicable, and there are currently no plans for a reunion.

According to him, the problem had compounded over a considerable period, demanding immediate attention.
