Abeiku Santana Blasts Pizzaman’s CEO For Jailing Two Employees For Stealing Chicken

Ghanaian media personality Abeiku Santana has criticised the CEO of the food establishment Pizzaman-Chickenman for allegedly jailing two employees for stealing.

During a show on Okay FM, Abeiku addressed the subject of the two employees who were given five-year jail terms for stealing chicken wings and cooking oil from their employer, saying that Christian Boakye Yiadom can no longer claim to be the leader he pretends to be.

He felt it was unfair that the CEO was responsible for the arrest of his workers, adding that he thought their stealing was motivated by poverty and hunger.

“This pizza guy goes about portraying himself as a youth leader, etc. Your employees have been sentenced to five years in prison for stealing twenty cartons of chicken wings. What is the point of it? Why not deduct the amount that was stolen from the salary of a poor person’s child who was working? So, because they stole chicken wings, which they didn’t do all in one day, they have been jailed for five years each. Clap for yourself, you’ve done well. “You are not a guy at all,” he stated.

Abeiku stressed that he does not approve of or encourage wrongdoing, but that the CEO’s decision to have the workers arrested and imprisoned for the crime was unnecessary.

“We do not support or encourage criminal conduct or stealing, but if you look at the young men who were sentenced to five years in prison for stealing chicken wings, you did not try.  Don’t ever come back to the youth again and act like you’re some kind of motivational speaker, he added.

Background

Two Pizzaman employees, Seidu Karim and Rashid Abdullah, were given a five-year prison sentence for stealing twenty boxes of chicken wings and two litres of cooking oil from the company’s warehouse in Nyankyerenease, Kumasi, Ghana.

On Monday, May 1, 2023, the prosecuting officer, ASP Jonas Newlove Adjei, who testified in court before H/H Fred Obekyere Esq, reported that the complainant, who is the executive chef of Pizzaman, received a call from his warehouse manager informing him that two cooking oils and eight boxes of chicken wings were stolen.

As soon as the chef received the news, he proceeded to collect their daily stock, only to discover that the products had already been stolen.
Workers were urged to turn over the stolen goods during an urgent meeting that very day.

When questioned, Rashid Abdullah said that he had witnessed Seidu Karim hiding two litres of Oki cooking oil behind a fence wall.
In his defence, Seidu Karim said that he had seen Rashid Abdullah hiding two cartons of chicken wings at the back of the fence wall.

Following the recovery of the stolen items, the suspects were turned over to the Asuoyeboah Police Command so that investigations could be completed.

While being questioned by investigators, Seidu Karim admitted to stealing twenty cartons of chicken wings and litres of cooking oil from the business over the course of two months.
