Accra: Tears As Fire Destroys Nearly 350 Wooden Structures At CMB

Store owners and some traders in Accra are in tears after a fire that started at dawn at CMB destroyed their wares and damaged their structures.

According to the publication originally shared by Graphic Online, it took four pumps from the Ghana National Fire Service headquarters substation and the Accra City, Circle, Ministries, and Accra City Fire Stations to put out the early-morning fire that destroyed 350 wooden structures.

Ovens, LPG cylinders, deep freezers, bags of grain and beans, and other items were all destroyed in the stores, which were utilized for both domestic and commercial purposes.

According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the alarm for a fire was raised at 05:04 GMT, and the first fire engine from Accra City Fire Station arrived at the location at 05:06 GMT to put out the fire by 06:40 GMT. At 7:40 a.m., the brave firefighters ultimately put out the quickly expanding fire without suffering any casualties.

The cause of the fire this morning is still being investigated. From the charred remains of the fire, the firefighters were able to help save nearby timber buildings, multi-story buildings, and the COCOBOD quality control office.
