Actress Viscella Richards Found Dead After Suspected Robbery Attack

Retired British actress Viscella Richards, known by her stage name Vikki Richards, has been discovered dead at her residence in the Caribbean.

Her hands were found bound inside her bedroom in North Valsyn, located in the northern region of Trinidad, on Wednesday.

Authorities suspect that the 79-year-old actress was murdered during a robbery, as her property had been ransacked. Despite the presence of bound hands, there were no other signs of violence on her body.

Vikki initially began her career in theatre and later appeared in notable television shows such as The Onedin Line, Return of the Saint, and Howard’s Way.

However, she gained recognition for her supporting role in the gritty 1973 British blaxploitation film, Black Snake, which was filmed in Barbados. In 1974, Vikki had the honor of being featured in the first-ever photograph taken by renowned Sun photographer Arthur Edwards.

This photograph captured her alongside Wolves star striker John Richards, and it marked the beginning of Edwards’ illustrious career on Fleet Street.

Despite being unmarried and childless, Vikki held dual citizenship in both Trinidad and Britain. She had moved to the UK with her family at the age of six in the early 1950s but eventually returned to Trinidad after retiring from her acting career on television and stage.

The local authorities are currently investigating the discovery of her body earlier this week. A caregiver, who had been unable to reach her since Tuesday evening, went to check on her and found her lifeless body on the bedroom floor of her residence near Port of Spain.

Upon arriving at the house, the friend noticed that the front gate was closed. After calling out to Richards multiple times, she entered the house through the slightly open front door and unexpectedly came across the deceased as she searched the premises for the elderly woman.
