Afrobeats Superstar Davido Performs Songs From His ‘Timeless’ Album For The First Time In NYC
Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido kicked off his “A Timeless Night With Davido” mini tour at Irving Plaza, New York City on Sunday following the release of his latest album, Timeless, which dropped on March 31, 2023.
The singer took to social media to express his joy saying, “NYC you were amazing! Last night was in fact TIMELESS. Had the best time celebrating with all of you at Irving Plaza intimately and you know we had to do it properly with Martell.”
His next stop will be in London on 5th April, and then back to Lagos on the 23rd of April.
Davido’s new album “Timeless” has 17 tracks and features collaborations with Skepta, Angelique Kidjo, Asake, and The Cavemen, among others.
The long-awaited record debuted at number one in 17 African countries within 24 hours of its release, becoming the first album to achieve this feat.
Davido is part of a generation of Afrobeats artistes who have blown the African dance-pop genre onto the global stage over the last decade. His songs have become the feel-good soundtrack of the continent, with collaborations alongside British and American superstars.
