In its 2024 Super Bowl commercial set in Accra, Ghana, the American National Football League (NFL) will highlight its expanding global initiatives.

A teaser for the commercial was released on January 28, 2024, during the AFC championship game on CBS.

The 15-second teaser, created by 72andSunny, showcased three of the league’s top stars, Saquon Barkley, Justin Jefferson, and Cameron Jordan, in full uniform, displaying their skills in downtown Accra, the capital city of Ghana.

The teaser featured Barkley leaping over a checkers table, Jordan flipping over a vehicle, and Jefferson making an impressive one-handed catch, along with a demonstration of the Ghanaian dance, Azonto.

Directed by Andrew Dosunmu of Little Minx, with cinematography by Malik Hassan Sayeed, the teaser serves as a preview for the upcoming full Super Bowl spot titled “Born to Play.”

The NFL’s campaign aims to pay tribute to its international work, focusing on developing local talent and creating pathways to the league.

The league’s global efforts have been expanding, with the Global Markets Program granting teams access to international markets for marketing, fan engagement, and commercialization activations.

Additionally, the NFL has played games in London and Frankfurt, Germany, this season. Through partnerships with the International Federation of American Football and NFL FLAG, the NFL also has programs in place to develop talent worldwide.

This global focus is part of a long-term strategic plan to increase NFL fan growth beyond the United States. The NFL’s 2024 Super Bowl commercial is scheduled to air on February 11, 2024, immediately following the Apple Music Halftime Show, during the telecast on CBS.
