Any Musician Who Says He Has Left Music Is Lying- Guru On Why He Won’t Quit Music

Guru says he firmly believes that any musician claiming to abandon music entirely is being dishonest.

He expressed this sentiment during his recent appearance on the latest episode of United Showbiz on UTV hosted by MzGee.

According to him, despite his recent academic pursuits, music remains an integral part of his identity, and he has no intention of giving up the microphone for any other endeavour.

As a former serial hitmaker turned student at the University of Legon and presently reading Political Science and Information Studies, Guru stated that while he is exploring new paths outside of music, he will always prioritize his passion for music.

“You cannot leave music. Any musician who says he has left music is lying. They may not be releasing hit songs but in their closets, they are writing songs.

The microphone is part of us and so we cannot let it go,” he said.

Days ago, Guru revealed that he was preparing to participate in the upcoming SRC elections. He expressed his desire to address important issues within the university community when he wins the elections.

In an interview with TV3 in Accra, he stressed the importance of finding practical solutions to tackle the challenges faced by students.

In his words, some of his proposed initiatives include the creation of Legon Television, improving campus transportation services by adding more buses and introducing recreational activities to help reduce student stress.
