Armed Police Officers And Military Men Clash At Makola Market

There was a fight between members of the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Armed Forces in Accra’s Central, sending terrified shop owners and employees fleeing for safety.

Several military officers reportedly attacked a police officer on a motorbike for a traffic violation. His status as Chief Inspector didn’t save him from the troops’ anger, either.

According to a report, the police officer ran to the Accra Central Police Station and told his coworkers what had happened. They followed him, beat the soldiers, and put one of them in jail.

The remaining soldiers sent a request for further reinforcements. As soon as they arrived, the military guys attempted to save their colleague, but the police rejected their efforts. Because of this, a conflict occurred.

Video recordings that surfaced on social media showed the troops initially pushing a person who was believed to be a police officer dressed in civilian clothes. While protecting his head with a helmet, the man was subjected to many blows to the face.

Fear spread throughout the Central Business District as a result of this, causing merchants and other people walking around to flee for their lives.

There has been no official word from any of the two security agencies.
