Armed Robber Caught At Crime Scene After Staying Behind to Eat Victim’s Chicken

A robber’s passion for fried chicken has landed him trouble.

Tru News Report learnt that the young man, James Taylor, 20, was robbing a guy who had just purchased a bag of freshly fried chicken.

The victim was requested to surrender everything, and he did, including the bag of chicken. Thereafter, the suspect made the decision to consume the chicken there rather than flee with his bucket of illegally obtained loot.

Officials claim that the victim in Chicago’s 4500 block of South Calumet had his vehicle parked in front of his home. Taylor ambushed the guy as he made his way home, holding him at gunpoint while robbing him. The event happened on Saturday night at 1:30 am on February 18.

According to reports, Taylor approached the victim from behind and gave him a shoulder tap. When the victim turned around, Taylor was holding a gun to his forehead.

The would-be thief then insisted that the man surrender his belongings. The guy surrendered the bag of fried chicken, his debit card, $2 in cash, and his keys.

There is no other way to account for what followed other than the fact that Taylor was incredibly famished. The man determined he would stay rather than immediately flee with his booty. He didn’t just decide to remain; he also entered the victim’s car and began munching on the fried chicken.

While Taylor was enjoying his stolen fried chicken, the victim dialled the cops. A few minutes later, the cops showed up and detained the thief. There are no specifics on whether Taylor was shocked when law enforcement arrived or if he was able to consume the entire bag.

Armed robbery with a firearm, aggravated possession of a stolen vehicle, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and illegal possession of a debit card is just a few of the many counts that Taylor is facing.

After the man posted $15,000 in bail, Judge Ankur Srivastava permitted him to return home with an electronic monitoring tag. Taylor risks a maximum sentence of 21 years in prison if found guilty of the crimes, but a plea agreement could result in a much lower sentence.
