Watch CCTV Footage Of How An Armed Robber Entered Building With Ladder

A report published by Ghanaweb has revealed the tactics employed by an armed robber during an operation in a plush house in Accra.

The criminal’s solo operation was caught on CCTV and is now being used as evidence against him in court. In November 2023, Francis Tekpor, the aforementioned armed robber, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to one year in jail based on the CCTV footage.

Furthermore, an additional report from Asaase Radio showcased a video of Tekpor climbing a building to gain entry into the home of his victim, Alhaji Seidu H. Nasigri. Nasigri serves as the board chairman of the Zongo Development Fund and is also the legal advisor to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu.

The video depicts Tekpor utilizing a ladder to scale the wall and enter the house through windows on the top floor that lacked burglar-proofing. The CCTV footage captured Tekpor entering Nasigri’s room three times while his wife was asleep, and he entered the other two rooms four times while Nasigri’s children were also asleep.

Ghanaweb expanded on the incident by disclosing that Francis Tekpor, in addition to other items, successfully pilfered two laptops, six iPhones, and GHC3,600 in cash. Superintendent Augustine Offei, who heads the Anti-Armed Robbery Unit at Police Headquarters in Accra, swiftly identified Tekpor within a day of the robbery. The police acted promptly and apprehended the suspect within a span of 72 hours.

Fortunately, all the stolen items, except for one of the laptops, were recovered by the authorities. During the police interrogation, Tekpor confessed to carrying a dangerous knife, ready to inflict harm or even cause death to anyone who confronted him while he was committing the crime.

Tekpor admitted his guilt during his appearance in court and pleaded guilty to the charges brought against him. The court, recognizing his plea, found him guilty and imposed a one-year prison sentence. Furthermore, the court mandated that Tekpor make restitution for the stolen laptop, which has an estimated value of GHC10,000.
