Ashanti Region: Houseboy Who Killed His Madam & Bolted With Her Car Arrested

Presently trending on the Ghanaian space of the internet is the sad story of a young man who killed his employer in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, precisely Kumasi and bolted with her possessions.

Fortunately, the young man, Alister John, is currently in the grips of the Police over the murder of his employer, Afia Ahenkan. The criminal, 22, was apprehended at his hideout subsequent to his flight from the crime scene with his employer’s vehicle and various possessions belonging to the deceased.

It was discovered that he was employed through an agency. Additionally, John Alister took the deceased’s phone and impersonated the victim by engaging in conversations and sending messages to friends and acquaintances.

A video circulating on social media depicts John Alister in handcuffs, being interrogated by an unidentified individual regarding the whereabouts of the stolen items. The suspect admitted to selling all the items he took from the victim’s residence and offered to provide the contact information of the person who purchased the items.

John Alister has a history of criminal activity, having allegedly stolen over GH¢7,000 and four mobile phones from his previous employer at East Legon just two months ago. After this incident, he remained under the radar until recently reappearing in the news, now accused of the murder of his most recent employer, whom he was hired by just two weeks prior.

He had recently secured a job as a Mobile Money Vendor through the same platform but absconded with the money, evading capture until this recent case unfolded. All these are allegations.

Prior to his arrest, Peace FM Sports broadcaster, Dan Kwaku Yeboah, disclosed the details of the incident, stating that the deceased, Princess Efia, was the wife of Reverend Osei Kofi’s son, who is based in London, United Kingdom. According to Yeboah’s account, the deceased was allegedly stabbed by her house help, whom she had recruited barely a month ago.

He noted that the “The family of Reverend Osei Kofi is in deep sorrow now because the wife of his London-based son has been killed.

The man wanted his wife to have the freedom to undertake her business activities so recruited a house help through an agency’’.

“The name of the house help was John Alister and he was paying him through the agency. On Friday, she was having a conversation with her friend when the friend heard her scream that she had been stabbed. The phone went dead and her number went off so the following day the friend sent a police team to the house in Kumasi,” he said.

“Upon getting to the house, they realized that the dog in the house had been released and the body of the lady was lying in the garage. The car in the garage had been driven away by the house help,” he said.
