Ayesem Reveals Why Ghanaian Rappers Are Turning Into ‘By Force’ Singers

Rapper Ayesem, whose real name is Stephen Siaw, has expressed his views on Ghanaian rappers blending singing into their music.

According to him, in the current music industry, sticking solely to rap may not be sustainable for artists. Ayesem said he and his colleagues are adapting to this trend to ensure they stay relevant and successful.

He emphasized that rappers have the flexibility to explore different genres and showcase their creativity through singing as well.

“As for the rap there’s no way I’ll stop doing it but the truth which is mostly not said is that when you do rap alone and you don’t do commercial music as a rapper you’ll go hungry,” he remarked when he spoke to Amansan Krakye on Property FM based in Cape Coast.

He observed “One thing about rappers is that rappers can turn to any other genre of music so they are entitled to everything because rappers are extra creative also with singing.

“I have also been doing my rap alongside my singing from way back in 2018 so anyone who says that Ayesem has switched from being a rapper to singer might not know me that much.

Rappers Amerado and Kwame Yogot have both gained new followers and made progress in the industry by incorporating singing into their performances.

Amerado’s breakthrough came with the song Kwaku Ananse, where he showcased his singing skills throughout the verses.

Similarly, Kwame Yogot is also establishing himself as a successful singer in the industry.
