BBC 1Xtra Selects Black Sherif As One Of The Finalists For its Hotfor2023 Campaign

Ghanaian singer and rapper, Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kwaku Frimpong, popularly known as Black Sherif, has been shortlisted for BBC 1 Xtra Hotfor2023 campaign.

According to the influential British black music publication, Black Sherif was selected together with a number of other amazing artistes who are predicted to achieve success in 2023 and beyond.

The Other artistes who made the list include Arya Starr, Cristale, Debbie, Doechii, FLO, Nemzzz, Nia Archives, Nippa, Sainte, and Jamaican Valiant.

The ‘Hot for’ list that is maintained by BBC 1Xtra is updated on an annual basis, after which the station declares its intention to promote the artistes that have been selected throughout the course of the following year.

Since the beginning of time, several musical acts have been responsible for putting Ghana on the map.

When it comes to the West African nation’s role as a producer of music to the rest of the globe, a variety of artists have taken on the role of speaking for the nation at various stages of the development of the country’s music at each of its many stages. Black Sherif in particular is one of the few singers to have taken the world by storm.

In 2022, Black Sherif published his debut studio album, The Villain | Never Was, which is still performing well on the charts of many online music platforms.
