Breaking News: Legendary US Talk Show Host Jerry Springer Dies At Age 79

Legendary American talk show host Jerry Springer, who is the presenter of one of the most raucous talk shows in the history of television, “The Jerry Springer Show,” has passed away at the age of 79.

The Jerry Springer Show, which aired for nearly three decades beginning in 1991, was known for showing fights, flying chairs, and other bizarre aspects of American culture to an international audience.

According to reports, Jerry Springe’s publicists confirmed that he died peacefully on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at his home in Chicago. A family representative also confirmed to ET that legendary talk show host Jerry Springer has passed away.

“Jerry’s ability to connect with people was at the heart of his success in everything he tried, whether that was politics, broadcasting, or just joking with people on the street who wanted a photo or a word. He’s irreplaceable, and his loss hurts immensely, but memories of his intellect, heart, and humour will live on,” said Jene Galvin, the family representative.

Springer first gained fame with the introduction of his tabloid talk show, The Jerry Springer Show, in 1991, which ran in syndication until 2018.

After approximately five thousand episodes of chaos, hostility, and adultery disclosures, Springer’s talk show became a symbol of low-brow television.

Earlier in his life, before his wildly famous TV career, Springer was the mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1977. In 2019, Springer began hosting a new TV show called Judge Jerry. After three seasons, the show was cancelled in 2022. In October, Springer appeared on The Masked Singer for the last time. He performed as “The Beetle.”
