Chief of Army Staff Major General Oppong Peprah Reveals Juju Attacks Amidst Military Shakeup

In a bid to dispel swirling speculations, Chief of Army Staff, Major General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, has categorically denied allegations of rejecting the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) appointment.

Addressing soldiers at the Burma Camp on Monday, January 15, the military leader referred to the rumors as “unfounded” and expressed dismay at the unwarranted attention directed towards him.

The Chief of Army Staff specifically addressed a recent publication suggesting that he declined the CDS appointment, purportedly causing a halt in military reshuffling. Major General Oppong-Peprah went further to disclose the extent to which the rumors had escalated, revealing claims of mystical attacks aimed at causing him harm.

“The name Oppong-Preprah is stirring stomachs and heads and creating fear in people. I don’t understand why and so I have been attacked, and they keep attacking me,” he stated.

Describing the hostile atmosphere surrounding him, the General explained, “Even this morning just before I got here, a publication was sent to me where it is being indicated that I have refused to accept the appointment of CDS and as a result, there is a stop in the military shakeup.”

Despite the challenges, Major General Oppong-Peprah remained resilient and defiant, asserting, “I have been taken to juju people and all that. We have pictures of it. In fact, it was one of the military police gentlemen who brought me pictures. But I am still standing here, I am not dead and I will not die. If you can’t cope with what I do, just sit down and zip up. That is all.”

Attributing the negativity surrounding him to jealousy, the General emphasized the collective achievements of the army under his leadership over the past four years. He highlighted the collaborative efforts of the entire army and urged against individualizing success, stating, “It is teamwork, it is not me, Oppong-Preprah, so don’t attack me.”
