Police Arrest Two Men For Causing Damage To Ho-Sogakope Road

The Ghana Police Service has taken swift action by arresting two individuals involved in the erection of an unauthorized speed ramp along the Ho – Sogakope highway in the Volta Region. The arrest comes after a video went viral, showing the suspects causing damage to the highway by placing concrete blocks and other materials.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Saviour Azakasi and Quarshie Godson. The video, which captured their actions, also showed other suspects participating in the unlawful activity. While Azakasi and Godson are currently in custody, efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects involved in the incident.

“The two suspects, Saviour Azakasi and Quarshie Godson, were seen in a viral video, in the company of other suspects, causing damage to the highway with concrete blocks and other materials.

“Both suspects are currently in custody assisting investigation while efforts are underway to get the other suspects arrested,” the statement said.

The police statement did not provide details about the motive behind erecting the unauthorized speed ramp or the potential consequences for road users. However, the arrest serves as a stern response to such activities that pose a threat to public safety and the integrity of public infrastructure.
