Chris Hughton Releases His Squad List For AFCON Qualifiers Against Angola

New Black Stars coach Chris Hughton has named his first squad to face Angola in AFCON double header game in his capacity as the manager of the senior national team.

The Black Stars will face Palancras Negras on March 23 at the Baba Yara Sports stadium before travelling to Luanda for the rematch on March 27. It seems Hughton has kept faith with the bulk o the players that represented Ghana at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Additionally, Joseph Paintsil and Joseph Wollacott have returned to the team after injury ruled out the latter from the global showpiece in Qatar.

Meanwhile, Baba Rahman has been dropped due to an illness, and Abdul Fatawu Ghana is tied for first place in Group E with four points after two games after defeating Madagascar 3-0 and drawing the Central African Republic 1-1 in June of last year.

Hughton hopes to build on these encouraging outcomes and lead his side to a triumph at the Africa Cup of Nations.
