In a video shared on the Twitter handle of BBC News UK, Marie Claire Rupio said she and her kids are deeply troubled over the whereabouts of Christian Atsu.

“The last time he spoke to us was on Saturday morning, It’s just surprising for his club to confirm he’s found and after 11 hours we hear something different, but I trust and still believe he’s alive,” the wife of Christian Atsu said.

Meanwhile, Francisca Ashitey-Odunton, Ghana’s Ambassador to Turkey has disclosed that every Ghanaian resident at the epi-centre of the earthquake in Turkey has been accounted for with the exception of footballer Christian Atsu.

According to reports, Christian Atsu was pulled from the rubble on Tuesday after becoming stuck in an earthquake-related disaster in Turkey.

The player, after being rescued, apparently cannot be located, according to sources on Wednesday. Then it emerged later that he wasn’t rescued at all and might be still buried under the rubble following the disaster.

Madam Francisca mentioned that the Ghana Embassy was able to contact some of the people who were near the scene of the disaster during an interview with Asempa FM. She lamented the fact that Christian Atsu was the only Ghanaian who had not yet been located in Turkey.
