Daughter of Nkem Owoh aka Osuofia Confirmed Dead

Veteran actor Nkem Owoh, who is known to his legions of fans across Africa and beyond as Osuofia has suffered the loss of his second daughter, Kosisochukwu.

The 24-year-old passed away after a brief illness on June 28, 2023. An obituary for Kosisochukwu has been circulating on social media, and her burial has been scheduled for Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Amagu village in Udi, Enugu State.

Notwithstanding the bad news, Osuofia opted to withhold the information from his fans, as is apparent from his Instagram account. The seasoned actor made a conscious decision to refrain from disclosing the distressing circumstances to the public.

Numerous enthusiasts and online users have extended their condolences and expressions of sympathy to the bereaved family during this arduous period.

The announcement of the burial arrangements has sparked an outpouring of support and well-wishes from fans as they send their thoughts and prayers to Nkem Owoh and his family.

Nkem Owoh is renowned for his rendition of the song “I Go Chop Your Dollar,” which highlights the issue of advance fraud aka yahoo yahoo in Nigeria. This song was prominently featured in the film The Master, in which Owoh portrayed the role of a scammer.

However, the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission banned the song. In 2007, Owoh was apprehended in Amsterdam, Netherlands, specifically in the Bijlmermeer neighbourhood in the Amsterdam Zuidoost borough, following a seven-month investigation by the Dutch police, which was dubbed “Operation Apollo.”

During a musical performance, the police raided the event and arrested 111 individuals on suspicion of lottery fraud and immigration violations, including Owoh.

He was subsequently released. In November 2009, Owoh was abducted in eastern Nigeria, and his captors demanded a ransom of 15 million naira. After his family members allegedly paid a ransom fee of 1.4 million naira, Owoh was released.
