Davido Asks Kanye West To Join Him At Puma Amidst His Beef With Adidas

Amid the ongoing dispute between Kanye West and Adidas, in which he publicly criticized them in a self-recorded video, Davido has come forward to invite the American rapper to join him at Puma, where he serves as a brand ambassador.

Kanye West recently criticized Adidas for allegedly selling unauthorized colourways of his Yeezy line and taking legal action against him.

The rapper expressed his frustration on social media, calling out the sportswear brand for using his name without approval and labelling the new releases as “corny.”

West emphasized that he did not create these colourways and is not benefiting financially from them. Additionally, he mentioned personal struggles such as not being able to see his children and having his Vulture’s album removed from streaming platforms.

“All these celebrities and the public will stand against a T-shirt or the colour of my hat but when yall see me have my children hidden from me or see an actual Fortune 500 company rape one of your heroes in real life don’t nobody say nothing or do nothing As far as the system goes What yall gone do now Take my album down again Freeze my accounts again Threaten people to not work with me again All the new non approved 350’s are corny,” he added.

West then posted a follow-up video where he further explained his position. “Let me explain really clearly to you guys what’s happening now with Adidas,” he said in the clip.

“Not only are they putting out fake colourways that are non-approved, they’re suing me for $250 million and not paying me for these shoes that they’re putting out that have my name on them.

The rapper received an overwhelming show of support from his fans, followers, and fellow celebrities as they united to back his mission of boycotting Adidas.

In response to the video post, fellow American rapper, Snoop Dogg, wrote, “Speak your truth.”

West shared a screenshot of the comment in a new Instagram post, expressing gratitude for the support. He wrote, “Thank you everybody for supporting me in this fight with Adidas. Thank you Snoop and thank you to all my fans. Your words are making a difference right now.”

Davido also chipped in, saying, “Come to @puma YE.”

PUMA entered into a long-term partnership with Davido not too long ago. This collaboration highlights PUMA’s dedication to the flourishing African market.

Boasting an impressive social media following of over 20 million and having released four successful albums, Davido has not only become a cultural icon for Nigeria but also a prominent advocate for human rights across the continent.

“We could not be more excited to welcome Davido to the PUMA family!” said Johan Kuhlo, PUMA’s General Manager EEMEA Distribution.

“Throughout our history, PUMA has had strong roots in Africa, football, and beyond. Signing Davido is both a clear commitment to Africa as a key market and a sign that African culture is becoming more and more relevant globally”.
