Dolly Parton & Garth Brooks To Host Academy of Country Music Awards

Garth Brooks will step on stage on Thursday to host the Academy of Country Music Awards for the first time.

He will team up with legend Dolly Parton and it is assumed the legendary singer will help him if some nerves will stick out.

“We’ve got a script that will go by just for guidance and time for the show, but I doubt very seriously that we’ll stick to it too close,” Parton said.

“It’s fun for me as a fan because I’ve always loved this woman from distance, but we’ve never got to work like this before. So trust me, … whether the show goes on the air or not, I’m having the best time on the planet,” Brooks said.

The show’s top candidate, singer-songwriter HARDY, is up for seven awards, including two in the song of the year category. He is nominated for several songs, including “Wait in the Truck,” a duet with Lainey Wilson, the second most popular candidate. He is also up for a songwriting award for Morgan Wallen’s “Sand in my Boots.”

Due to a vocal chord injury that has forced him to cancel his tour, the country superstar won’t perform as scheduled. The night might come to a close with Miranda Lambert, the current year’s most-awarded performer in ACMs history, expanding her lead.

Along with Carrie Underwood, Chris Stapleton, Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, Luke Combs, and Wallen, she is vying for Entertainer of the Year.

Two nominees are already winners: Hailey Whitters and Zach Bryan have won best new artist honours.

Performers will include some of country’s biggest names, including Carly Pearce, Keith Urban, Brandy Clark, and Mickey Guyton along with a special performance from British pop star Ed Sheeran. The show streams on Amazon Prime beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern from the Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, Texas.

Parton will perform “World on Fire,” a song from her new rock album.

Performances are a hallmark of the ACMs, which often pair artists who might not normally perform together. “They’re so frickin’ cool and I love them,” Brooks said.

Dolly Parton net worth

Dolly Parton’s net worth is estimated to be around $650 Million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Much of this is thanks to her success in music, which includes 41 top-10 country albums, as well as 25 number-one singles.

Parton is an American singer-songwriter, actress, philanthropist, and businesswoman, known primarily for her decades-long career in country music. After releasing her first album, Hello, I’m Dolly, in 1967, Parton enjoyed popularity throughout the rest of the 1960s (both as a solo artist and with a string of duet albums with Porter Wagoner), but her sales and chart success really took off in the 1970s and lasted into the 1980s.

Parton’s records did not perform as well in the 1990s, but she found financial success once more in the new millennium. Since then, she has released albums on a number of indie companies, including her own label, Dolly Records.
