Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe Wants Akufo-Addo To Resign

Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, a founding member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has publicly called for the immediate resignation of Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe criticizes the president’s leadership style, stating that it undermines the democratic principles fought for under the 4th republican constitution. Having known President Akufo-Addo since 1998, when he ran for the NPP presidential flagbearer, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe claims that the president has changed since assuming office in 2016.

Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe emphasizes that the democracy they worked tirelessly to restore has been trampled upon under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo and the NPP government.

Furthermore, he expresses concern that if corruption within the political class is not addressed, Ghana will face significant challenges. Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe laments the looting of the country’s resources by NPP officials, who are also relocating their families abroad, while ordinary Ghanaians are deprived of their basic needs.

“What many Ghanaians may not remember is that General Nuno Mensah was the campaign manager for President Akufo-Addo in the 1998 NPP presidential primaries, and I was also a member of that team, so we know what we are talking about.

“As a young medical doctor in the Ghana Armed Forces years ago, I experienced despicable disobedient within the ranks and tribal considerations by the leadership of the decision making and these are again manifesting today.”

“As a member of the New Patriotic Party, I am worried over how leading figures in the ruling party’s presidential primaries are now publicly confessing this acts of corruptions with accusations of siphoning public money and office to resettle their families abroad. Acquring properties while the people of Ghana largely suffer and are deprived of basic needs,” he lamented.
