Drake To Take A Break From Music Over Health Concerns
It has been reported that Drake, the most commercially successful rapper of all time, may be taking a hiatus from his music career due to health concerns.
Despite the recent release of his highly anticipated album, For All, the artist has expressed his intention to step away from creating new music for the next year or more in order to prioritize his well-being. This announcement was made during his SiriusXM Radio show, Table For One, on the morning of the album’s release, Friday, October 6th.
“I probably won’t make music for a little bit,” he said. “I need to focus on my health first and foremost … I’ve been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach. I need to get right.
“I have a lot of other things that I’d like to focus on, so I’m going to lock the door on the studio for a little bit. I don’t even know what a little bit is. Maybe a year or something, maybe a little longer.”
No further information regarding the health concerns of the prominent Toronto celebrity has been disclosed beyond his initial statements.
Drake is presently engaged in his It’s All a Blur Tour, with the last planned performance set to take place on Saturday (October 7) in Toronto. However, the concluding show initially slated for October 9 in Columbus, Ohio has been postponed, and as of the time of writing, no alternative date has been announced.
