Efya Draws Inspiration From Hilda Baci, Intends To Break World’s Longest Song Record

Ghanaian musician Efya is motivated by Hilda Baci’s recent achievement in breaking the record for the longest cooking marathon to break the record for the longest song ever recorded.

Recall that Nigerian chef and social media personality Baci broke the record for the longest cooking marathon by one person.

On Monday morning, the cook surpassed Lata Tondon’s previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes; Tondon is no longer the owner of the Guinness World Record.

On Thursday at precisely four o’clock in the afternoon, Hilda turned on her stove to begin the challenge. Hilda is the first person to ever spend so much time cooking, and after shattering the previous record, she continues to cook for an additional 96 hours.

Encouraged by this, Efya has made the decision to carry out this enormous feat in her area of expertise by planning a long-lasting record.

“If I can break a record, it will be for the longest song. Sometimes you can do the longest song recorded. I don’t have to be on my feet singing continuously. I could sing for a couple of days; I could hold a note for long. These dirges we have in Ghana are an example, we have 15 minutes of such songs. I could sing for 30 hours if I want to break the record. Hilda recorded 100 hours because she was cooking,” she told Abeiku Santana.

The only difficulty, according to the Ghanaian neo-soul artist, is that she might not be able to solicit others to take part in it. Efya is still committed to breaking the record and elevating Ghana through her musical achievement despite this possible obstacle.

“The challenge is that you might have to be the only one to sing. Maybe we might not be allowed to tag other people in it because it will seem easy and another country can beat us easily over it,” she added.

Efya, is a Ghanaian singer, songwriter, and actress from Kumasi. She is the daughter of Nana Adwoa Awindor, a filmmaker and celebrity host of the late television show Greetings From Abroad.

When Efya took part in the inaugural Stars of the Future talent competition, she experienced her first taste of stardom. Beginning in 2011, she won the Ghana Music Awards four times in a row for Best Female Vocal Performance. In addition, her performance at the 2013 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards received praise.
