Everyone Is Entitled To Their Opinion – King Promise To Critics 

Gregory Bortey Newman, better known by his stage name King Promise, has responded to the widespread criticism that he did not deserve to win Album of the Year at the 24th VGMA.

Speaking on UTV’s showbiz night, the Ghanaian afrobeats artist said that he respects the views of others but that he put in the effort to win Album of the Year.

KingPromise, who had previously gone home empty-handed and disappointed, finally won the award for “Best Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste.

“At the end of the day I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion, I have said this several times and I’m okay with that, People equally had a problem when, from 2019, I couldn’t pick up any awards, so that’s how the game is… I love Black Sherrif, and I love his album. Every nominee in that category is deserving of it, but it’s an honour I be recognised for my hard work. he said.
