Gabrielle Union Admits Cheating During Her First Marriage To Chris Howard

Gabrielle Union is more candid than ever about her prior relationship, saying that she and former NFL player Chris Howard were not exactly faithful to one another during their marriage.

The actress was married to her ex-husband from 2001 to 2006, but according to Union, she realised after marrying Howard that she had gone too far since neither of them was ready to commit.

In a recent appearance on Dax Shephard’s “Armchair Expert Podcast,” the fifty-year-old joked that she would not be receiving the ‘Wife of the Year’ award for her relationship with Howard. Union went on to say that she wished she had felt more remorse about the adultery in her marriage, but that, in retrospect, she should have never decided to be married.

Union claimed that she couldn’t feel terrible about her conduct since the marriage was “just such a stupid relationship that should never have gotten out of the dating phase.” When their points of view didn’t line, the “Think Like A Man” star said she would strive to outdo her ex, adding, “I was like, ‘Oh, that’s what you’re doing? You’re gonna feel this one.’” She also believed that because she was the breadwinner, she felt “entitled” to cheat.

“I felt that that’s what comes, the spoils of riches,” Union gushed. “Like my dad before me, whoever has the most gets to do whatever the hell they want, is what I thought.”

The “Cheaper By The Dozen” star said she felt “horny for validation and having certain kinds of guys like me and want me. That made me feel like I was worthy and good and valuable and deserving.”

Union said things were the same when she met Wade and they started dating, but she realised they had to do “inner work” to recover and become a better couple.
